Banking System Upgrade

What members must know for system upgrade weekend May 5 to May 8 Expand/Collapse

 

  • Have cash, cheques, or a credit card available for purchases in case debit or ATM services become unavailable
  • Interac e-Transfer® will be unavailable from May 1 to May 8 and any pending transfers will be cancelled
  • Take note of branch closure times and service availabilities
  • Plan ahead for online bill payments and transfers as online banking will not be available during the upgrade
  • All pre-authorized bill payments will be processed as normal
  • Account balances will be unavailable from May 5 at 5 p.m. to May 8 at 9 a.m.

Online banking users Expand/Collapse

 

  • You will now access your accounts online using Valley First online banking
  • Online banking login details and passwords will change
  • You will now use the 19-digit number on the front of your Interac® Flash MemberCard® to access online banking
  • You must reset your password after the upgrade is complete
  • Account history prior to May 5 will not be available online

 

Login and access your online banking:

  • When logging in to your Enderby & District Financial accounts online, the login area will now direct members to Valley First’s online banking platform. This is because Enderby & District Financial and Valley First now use the same banking technology.
  • Enderby member account numbers are no longer used to log in to online banking. Instead, you’ll use the 19-digit number on the front of your Interac® Flash MemberCard®.
  • Remember to delete/clear the pre-populated numbers in the online login area and enter your Member Card® number in full. You can add this new number as a memorized account via the link in the login area window.

 

New passwords for online banking

Following the upgrade completion on May 8, you will need to create a single-use temporary password to access your online banking. Please use the formula provided to you in the member information booklet you received from Enderby & District Financial in the mail. If you need a copy of the booklet, please contact your branch. For any help with the formula, you can contact our support centre at 1-877-664-7111.

After logging in with your temporary password, you will be asked to create a new 8-12 character alpha-numeric password (using characters A-Z and 0-9) before you can carry out any transactions or view your account information.

 

Why can’t I login to online banking using my member number?

Starting on May 8, use the 19-digit number of the front of your Interac® Flash MemberCard® to login to online banking, not your member number. You will also need a temporary password to access your account. Contact the branch to retrieve that temporary password or call our member support line 1-877-664-7111, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

 

Are there other online services impacted by the system upgrade?

Please be aware that during the system upgrade period, availability of these online services will be affected.

  • Interac e-Transfer® will not be available from May 1 to May 8.
  • Text Banking will be unavailable from May 5 at 5 p.m. to May 8 at 9 a.m.
  • Mobile-optimized web banking will be unavailable from May 5 at 5 p.m. to May 8 at 9 a.m.

 

How do I see my account history?

Your account history (up to and including May 5) won’t be available in online banking after the upgrade, however, you can still view your account history via paper statement, eStatements or in the branch.

 

Other important information

  • When viewing your Enderby & District Financial accounts in the account summary page of Valley First online banking, they will be listed as “Valley First accounts”.
  • Memorized account feature to log-in to online banking will need to be reset after the upgrade as the memorized account information will be deleted.
  • If you are downloading account information from online banking to a money management system such as Quicken, a download must be completed before May 5.
  • After the upgrade, you will need to re-add the CRA to your saved vendors for online bill payments.
  • Interac e-Transfer® will be unavailable from May 1 to May 8 and any pending transfers will be cancelled.
  • During your first log-in after the upgrade, you’ll be prompted to repeat the setting of your increased authentication security questions.
  • The look and feel for online banking will appear slightly differently because you’ll now have access to a new spending and budgeting tool to help you stay on top of your money.

Telephone banking users Expand/Collapse

 

  • Telephone banking password remains the same

After May 8, you can continue to use 1-866-838-4979 to access your telephone banking.

Your login to telephone banking will be the same as before the conversion, meaning you’ll use your account number. This means that login to telephone banking will be different than the online banking login, which now uses your Interac® Flash MemberCard® number.

Resetting an online banking password will not reset the telephone banking password, and vice versa. Make note if your passwords are different.

Don't get locked out after the upgrade Expand/Collapse

 

  • Read the online banking password formulas in your member information booklet closely
  • Have your MemberCard® with you as you work out your temporary password
  • Enter your password carefully; passwords are case sensitive

It’s essential you follow the online banking password-reset instructions closely as outlined in your member information booklet. After the upgrade is complete, if you enter the wrong password three times, your account will be locked. As the same password is used for both online and mobile banking, if you get locked out of one you will be locked out of both.

Viewing statements Expand/Collapse

 

  • After the upgrade there will be changes to your statements
  • Your bill payments, direct deposits and cheque transactions won't be affected

After the upgrade, you will see minor design changes to your Enderby statement but know all the information regarding your accounts will be retained. If you have any questions about how the information on your statement appears, talk to one of our in-branch advisors.

 

Will this upgrade impact member Statements and eStatement information?

  • When you receive your April statement, it will include transactions for May 1 to 5. This will cover all the transactions made in our existing banking system
  • Your May statement, which you will receive in early June, will cover all transactions made in our new system from May 6 to 31
  • After May 6, if you need to look back at previous account transactions online, you can only do so by viewing your eStatements. Your transaction history prior to May 6 will not appear on your account activity page

How will the upgrade impact sending and receiving an Interac e-Transfer®? Expand/Collapse

 

Members will be unable to send and receive Interac e-Transfer® from May 1 to May 8. During this time, all pending e-Transfers will be rejected. Starting May 8, members must choose "Valley First and Enderby & District Financial, divisions of First West Credit Union", from the drop down list of financial institutions to accept an Interac e-Transfer®.

Are wire transfers impacted? Expand/Collapse

 

Wire transfers will be unavailable May 5 from 5 p.m. to May 8 at 9 a.m. Starting May 8, if you receive a wire transfer, the sender must indicate that the originating institution is Valley First, not Enderby & District Financial. If Enderby member is receiving a wire from another financial institution, Valley First and its corresponding swift code must be referenced. Enderby will not be found in the search for the routing information.

Will the cheques written on Enderby & District Financial accounts still go through?
Simply put, yes!

Will I need to change pre-authorized debit or credits?
No. You do not have to re-enter your list of saved online vendors with the exception of CRA.

Can I still pay my bills through the ATM?
You will no longer be able to pay bills through the ATM, however, you can complete bill payments in the branch, via telephone and online banking as well as Valley First’s mobile app.

How do I set up bill payments online?
The same way you did before the upgrade. After logging into online banking, follow the online prompts to “add payee” and enter said payee’s account information.

What happens with our joint shares and accounts?
All accounts transfer to the new banking system intact.

Can I change my PIN in branch or at ATM or both?
Any PIN changes you wish to do in the future must be done in branch for personal security purposes.
