Penticton, B.C.—In late July, Grant Fletcher, a Kelowna resident and senior account manager at Valley First completed a gruelling course that saw him cycle from Kelowna through to the Gulf Islands in memory of his long-time friend, Margaret Moore, who passed away unexpected over a year ago due to heart failure. His trip, aptly named Coffee with Margaret has raised $10,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

July 11, 2014

Penticton, B.C.—Valley First and Feed the Valley have partnered with the Penticton Salvation Army Food Bank to produce a set of Food For All Cookbooks-Legumes series. Launching in the next few weeks, the cookbooks are aimed at providing people with a variety of simple recipes for goods commonly received at food banks. Additionally, recipe sampling has been available at the food bank throughout the early weeks of July with the final session taking place on July 15.

Kelowna, B.C.—The Kelowna Rockets’ season may be done, but their fans are still seeing the impact of their community support. During the Rockets’ recent playoff run, a partnership between the team, the Kelowna Professional Fire Fighters Association (KPFFA), Valley First and other community partners raised more than $16,000 through the sale of white Kelowna Rockets playoff T-shirts.
