Local Financial, Legal, and Accounting Experts Join Forces

Local financial, legal and accounting experts join forces to educate wine industry insiders
November 28, 2012

Penticton, B.C.—The Okanagan Valley is regarded as one of the premier wine growing regions in North America. Beyond producing some of the finest wine on the market, the 100-plus wineries up and down the valley are also a valuable source of tourism and employment.

To ensure the Okanagan’s thriving wine industry remains at its peak, a group of experts from Valley First, White Kennedy and Pearce Taylor Schneiderat are joined forces this week to deliver a free information session—known as the Prosperity Series—focused on how our local wineries can improve their prosperity and achieve their financial and business goals.

"Almost all of us love a good glass of Okanagan wine," says Valley First's Dave Finner. "However, what we are seeing is only the end product. The wineries in our area work the long hard hours associated with all small businesses. At Valley First, we realize the vital role they play in our economy in terms of tourism, jobs and product development. That is why we think it’s important to provide our winery partners with the local knowledge they need to grow and thrive."

Designed for winery principals and executives, The Prosperity Series covers winery financial reporting, winery accounting, legal issues, insurance, business valuation and taxation.

"We are committed to helping winery businesses achieve success in our community,” says accounting firm White Kennedy’s management team. “The hands-on nature of our Prosperity for Wineries Seminar Series is closely aligned with the progressive, personalized solutions and service White Kennedy offers our own clients.”

Joining the experts from Valley First and White Kennedy is Jodie Taylor of law firm Pearce Taylor Schniederat. Taylor adds "As a general practice firm, we can help grape growers and wine-makers navigate the legal parameters of their trade so they can do what they do best, make and sell wines.”
