Home Sweet Bonus® for Savvy Savers

Valley First offering $1,000 Home Sweet Bonus® to savvy savers
June 17, 2013

Penticton, B.C.—Valley First is making saving for a home a little bit sweeter with the introduction of the Home Sweet Bonus® account, the simplest way to start saving for a home. With this innovative new product, members who save a minimum of $100 a month for three years and then take out a qualifying mortgage with Valley First will receive a $1,000 bonus*.

According to a recent homeownership poll, 14 per cent of Canadians stated that not having a larger down payment when purchasing a home was a mistake. That number grows to 21 per cent for younger homebuyers (ages 18-34) while one in three first-time homebuyers said saving for a down payment held them back from buying.

“Saving for a down-payment on a home can be one of the most challenging, but also most rewarding tasks in life,” says Cheryl Croeze, assistant vice-president of retail banking for Valley First. “Our new Home Sweet Bonus® account is a simple way for us to celebrate that achievement and help make purchasing a home just a little bit sweeter.”

To help make saving for a home easier the Home Sweet Bonus® account offers:

  • High interest rates on all deposits
  • Low minimum deposit requirement
  • No repayment requirement after home purchase
  • Can be used in addition to the Government of Canada’s Home Buyers’ Plan

The Home Sweet Bonus® account is yet another innovative new product offered by Valley First and joins the industry leading line-up including the Simply Free Account®, Referral Perks® program and Unlimited Chequing for Business® account.
