Valley First employees set to Make a Difference in their communities
September 18, 2013

Penticton, B.C.—Valley First employees are saying goodbye to their offices and hello to volunteering as they team with local non-profit agencies throughout the Okanagan, Similkameen and Thompson regions during their inaugural Valley First Make a Difference Days.

Between Sept. 21 and 29, up to 100 Valley First employees will take part in the week-long volunteer service event, spending time working alongside local non-profits and helping to fulfill project and volunteer needs in the community. This year, the Valley First team is lending its employees and their expertise to organizations including local food banks, the Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs and Raise-a-Reader.

“Our goal at Valley First is to make a meaningful difference in the financial lives of our members and in our local communities,” says Valley First’s Christa Phillips. “Through our Make a Difference Days, we’re giving our employees a chance to make an even bigger impact in their local area.

“We partner with so many terrific, like-minded organizations throughout the year. Make a Difference Days is a natural extension of our community outreach. It also allows us to share our passion for strengthening our communities with partners that share a common vision and desire to make a positive change.”
