New Valley First locations triple presence and bring convenience, choice and greater access to expertise

Penticton, B.C.—Valley First—one of the Interior’s oldest and most respected credit unions—marked the grand openings of its new RiverBend branch and recently rebranded Valley First Insurance office on Thursday, March 7.

The addition of the Valley First RiverBend and Valley First Insurance Kamloops office (formerly Simmons Black & Emsland Insurance) triples Valley First’s presence in the Kamloops community and brings greater choice and access to financial expertise.

“Kamloops is a growing market and we’re incredibly excited about investing in its future,” says Valley First president Rennie. “Adding a new branch and bringing SB&E into the Valley First network will really give banking and insurance consumers more options.

“We’ve been looking to expand our presence in Kamloops for some time. Our new locations provide convenience for members, choice for customers and career opportunities for employees.”

Valley First’s growing presence in Kamloops hasn’t gone unnoticed; it has received support from both the City of Kamloops and the Chamber of Commerce.

“It's great to see a community-minded company like Valley First thrive in our city,” says City of Kamloops Mayor Peter Milobar. "The expansion locations and jobs by Valley First in Kamloops are welcomed.”

Maurice Hindle, president of the Kamloops Chamber says: “Valley First’s expansion in Kamloops reflects the growth we are seeing across our community. It’s terrific to see such a well-established and well-respected organization expanding its presence right on our doorstep.”

Beyond its branches, Valley First is a strong community supporter. This year, the community-focused organization became the lead sponsor of the Valley First Crown of Curling and jumped to the assistance of the food bank after its devastating fire. In addition, since its launch in March 2010, Valley First has raised 1,500 pounds of food and more than $11,000 for the Kamloops Food Bank and Outreach Society through its Feed the Valley program.
