Long-time Kamloops resident Charla Johnstone to lead North Shore location

Penticton, B.C.—Valley First is pleased to announce the appointment of its new RiverBend branch manager, long-time Kamloops resident and experienced financial services leader Charla Johnstone.

“Charla is a proven leader,” says Audrey, Valley First ‘s regional manager for Kamloops and the North Okanagan. “She also has a wide-range of financial services experience and a commitment to making banking easier for members—a top priority for us. As a long-time Kamloops resident with excellent banking industry experience, Charla will make a terrific addition to the Valley First team.”

Johnstone brings 15 years of financial services industry and leadership experience to Valley First’s Brocklehurst RiverBend branch. During her career, she has served in a variety of increasingly senior roles in retail and commercial banking. She has developed a strong reputation for her coaching and business development skills, valuable assets as Valley First’s RiverBend branch grows.

“I’m truly excited to be joining the Valley First team,” says Johnstone. “I’ve been in the financial services industry for many years and I know Valley First has a fantastic reputation for member service as well as serving its communities.

“The opportunity to lead a new branch is one I couldn’t pass up. Kamloops is a growing, vibrant city and looking forward to helping Valley First firmly establish itself on the North Shore. RiverBend is a young branch, a little over a year old, so there is plenty of potential all around us.

Born and raised in Kamloops, Johnstone is an active, passionate member of the community. Over the years, she has been involved with many local events and organizations and she looks to continue that with Valley First.

“Financially or through volunteer hands, Valley First has been committed to strengthening the community since it was established more than 65 years ago,” says Johnstone. “We’ve built a strong reputation as a caring community partner and trusted neighbour. I’m proud to say I’m part of the Kamloops community. I’m also proud to be joining an organization that has demonstrated its commitment to making a difference where we live, work and play.”
