Rutland Branch
Celebrates One Year!

Valley First Place in Rutland celebrates one year anniversary
February 27, 2014

Penticton, B.C.—Valley First Place in Rutland, home Valley First’s newest credit union branch and insurance office, has turned one.

“Since we opened our doors a year ago, the Rutland community has welcomed us with open arms,” says Shawna McCrea, branch manager at Valley First Place. “It’s been great to meet and connect with so many new members in the area and offer a more convenient branch location for many of our existing members in Rutland. “

Offering a full suite of retail and commercial banking and wealth management services onsite, Valley First Place is also home to a Valley First Insurance office, giving Rutland residents a one-stop shop for all of their banking, borrowing, investing and insurance needs.

“2013 certainly flew by,” says Brett Innis, manager of insurance services at Valley First Place. “Our prominent position on what is probably Rutland’s busy corner has definitely turned heads. What’s even better is that we’ve been able to help even more Kelowna residents access the best banking and insurance products.”

Not only has Valley First Place given Rutland residents greater choice, but it has also enabled Valley First to spread its community investment efforts in this area. In 2013, Valley First and its employees supported various projects, events and community organizations in Rutland including a $1,500 donation to the YMCA of Okanagan to start up its Jr. Volunteer Healthy Canteen Program, a youth-led initiative to provide healthy snacks to children at the Kelowna Family YMCA at a low-cost.

“Valley First is taking a lead, as many progressive businesses do, in the development of Rutland as a dynamic, livable, family-oriented community,” says City of Kelowna Mayor Walter Gray. “Valley First Place at the four corners of Rutland is a symbol of progress in this community. The fact that this branch is the highest volume branch of all Valley First locations is certainly a result of good management, good customer service and a dynamic business climate in Rutland.”

“It’s been a great first year here in Rutland,” says McCrea. “We’re excited to be a part of this growing community and we look forward to strengthening our roots here in the years to come.”
