What information do I need to link external accounts? Expand/Collapse

To link most of your external accounts you will need to provide additional information (e.g. account number, valid userid and password to the applicable online account, etc.).

When you link to any non-First West banking account you will be presented with additional terms and conditions related to sharing your external account userid and password. The third party provider requires this access information to retrieve your external account transactions. This practice mirrors all other financial management tools, such as Mint, RBC Finance Tracker, etc.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is my banking and personal information safe?
Keeping your financial information safe and secure is our priority. Our online services offer you the best security currently available in a commercial environment so that your personal and financial information is protected. Please review our online privacy policy for further information about how we're protecting you.

How is this different from Mint.com?
Mint.com is not a financial institution. It is a third-party software provider that acts as an aggregator of customers’ banking information. It does not allow users to perform any online banking activities, such as pay bills or transfer money. Our new online banking platform offers easy-to-use tools to help you see your full financial picture, all within a banking website you know and trust.

What if I don’t want to use the MoneyView™ features?
You can minimize the view of the spending and budgeting features, which makes the format look similar to what you have used in the past. When you use the same device to log in to your online banking, your preference of hiding the new interface will be remembered.

Can I link my Qtrade investment portfolios and Valley First credit cards?
Yes. Note that for each account you link, you will be asked to consent before the link can be created.

Can I link my accounts from other financial institutions?
As a convenience, we have provided you the option of linking your accounts at other financial institutions so you can see all your accounts, including your credit cards and investment portfolios in one place. Use of this feature will require you to accept additional terms and conditions.

Are the budgeting and spending tools available on mobile?
Yes. Our Mobile Web and Mobile App include the ability to view (not manage) spending, budgets and categories for accounts held with us and through other financial institutions.
