We’ve rounded up 10 of the most common scams — along with ways to identify and outsmart them.
We believe in supporting local non-profit and charitable organizations that serve the most vulnerable in our communities. We create capacity in the social sector by leveraging our financial strength and our social vision, Lead Well. Through Lead Well, employees volunteer their time and skills to help our communities flourish.
We’re committed to fighting food insecurity through our signature cause, Feed the Valley, local partnerships, and community programs. Since 2010, Valley First and Enderby District team members, members, and communities have raised over $3.14 million, the equivalent of 6.2 million meals. Our team members support this effort by volunteering, running food drives, and raising awareness to strengthen community well-being.
Cancer touches many lives, including our colleague Lisa and her husband, who both faced the disease and emerged with a renewed appreciation for life. With one in two British Columbians affected, we’ve committed $400,000 over four years to the BC Cancer Foundation, supporting research, innovative care, and team engagement through initiatives like the Workout to Conquer Cancer Challenge.
Established in 1996, the First West Foundation is our philanthropic partner. As a federally registered charity, it supports communities through grant-making and partnerships with local charities via four community endowments—Envision Financial, Enderby & District Financial, Island Savings, and Valley First—and 14 named endowments across B.C. Since inception, it has awarded over $12.6 million in grants, including $975,759 to 100 charities in 2024.
We believe in the power of partnership, working together to achieve social impact and make a difference in our communities.
At Valley First and Enderby & District Financial, we believe in the power of partnership, a shared commitment to creating lasting, positive change in our local communities. Whether through marketing sponsorships or community investments, we’re proud to support initiatives that align with our values and goals.
Volunteering is a key part of Valley First and Enderby & Districts social vision. Through our Lead Well program, team members grow as leaders while giving back. In 2024, they contributed over 2,100 hours—both during work and personal time—to support those in need and strengthen communities across B.C.
Valley First offers a marquee tent lending program to both non-profit and for-profit organizations. This is part of our commitment to support community events and initiatives that align with our business goals. By partnering with organizations that share our values and reach, we amplify our brand while supporting meaningful local engagement.

Each week, parents and children gather in a warm, welcoming space, not just to sing, but to connect. The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® is a free, one-hour session where we share rhymes, songs, and stories that spark joy and build bonds.
