Top of the world

Experience of a lifetime provides support locally and abroad

Climbing to the top of Kilimajaro was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences that our own Jim Lamond and Kevin Tom have ever had. The pair had collected over $3,000 in donations to be split between Penticton Search & Rescue and Fields of Life; an organization that builds schools within impoverished countries in Africa.

Feed the Valley

Valley First celebrates a remarkable year of reducing hunger

In 2018, Valley First raised an impressive $205,544—the equivalent of 616,632 meals—and 6,015 lbs of food for Feed the Valley, the credit union’s signature cause to raise food, funds and awareness for hunger-related issues. Donations were contributed directly to 11 food banks throughout British Columbia’s Okanagan, Similkameen and Thompson regions.

Helping hand sculpture selected from Call to Artists

The City of Penticton and Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, have selected a sculpture from their Call to Artists issued last fall. David Jacob Harder’s proposal for Helping Hand was chosen by a jury of three local artists and City and Valley First representatives for a permanent spot in front of the Valley First branch at 184 Main Street.
